Evaluation of barley semi-dwarf allele sdw1.d in a near isogenic line

چکیده

Semi-dwarf genes have been used to alleviate lodging and increase harvest index in barley. The present study was conducted determine the effect of widely sdw1.d allele on agronomic characters. transferred from cv. Triumph Tokak 157/37 using marker assisted backcross breeding, a near-isogenic line developed. Parents + near isogenic were evaluated three rainfed, fall-planted seven spring-planted trials Tokat province Turkey. background shortened plant height by 20–30 cm, decreased 40–60%, delayed heading time 5–7 days, produced 74–178 more spikes per square meter. On other hand, reduced thousand-seed weights most about 3–5 g. However, greater seed where precipitation higher. higher grain yields especially fall planted with high rainfall. Due its spike number area improved index, NIL merits further studies under different ecological growing practices.
